    In , a newsletter was published by Dr. Carl Edmonds and distributed to diving medical professionals. This newsletter grew to become the Journal of the South Pacific Underwater Medicine Society in the covers. This book would be an excellent textbook for a uni­ versity course on Geography ofthe South Pacific , as well as what the incidental or seasoned traveler needs in order to plan and execute a visit to any ofthe fifteen islands or island groups covered. This 7th edition contains 65 more pages of information than the previous edition.
